Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is an outgrowth of the oil well drilling technology evolved from drilling contractors’ know-how. There are very limited publications on the processing and interpretation of field data during the drilling phase to avail these data to researchers and engineers. This presentation privides examples on using the field data obtained from HDD operations during pilot hole drilling, reaming and pullback operations.
